Share has Moved!!
Thirty-one years ago, Share moved into the little house at 402 Jackson Street. During that time, Share grew from a two staff member organization serving families in the St. Louis area to a nine-person national organization serving thousands across the United States and other countries.
The tiny house healed many hearts and gave hope to so many people, but the house itself was too small. The cramped quarters presented numerous difficulties for the Share Staff as well as grieving parents. Intimate moments for families who have lost a baby occured in a crowded, noisy environment where privacy simply didn't exist. Loss parents endured the most extreme stress imaginable in a common area with hard chairs, harsh lighting, and no physical comfort whatsoever.
We found ourselves at a critical crossroads. For the future success of Share and to be able to provide much-needed programs to bereaved families, we needed a bigger comforting space. We are so happy to announce that Share has moved! This is a change that has allowed better services to our families. These parents need us and we need a facility that helps us give them the best possible care. Our new space in St. Peters, MO and has a comfort room that provides privacy and peace.
We loved the old house on Jackson St. that served us so well for so many years, and it was a bittersweet goodbye when we left, but our new home allows us to serve many more families, and offer more services than could ever have been possible.
There's a strong emotional component to all of the work and trust that so many families have placed in us that has occurred within that tiny home, and we brought that spirit of that place with us to the new space.
This is so much more than just a new office, or just paying rent or donating to operating expenses. This gives grieving families the comfort of a private place to grieve and heal. We want you to be a part of this big move for Share! Please join our monthly giving club or see the naming opportunities below. We cannot provide the loving environment our families desperately need without the generous support of businesses, corporations, and individual donors.
A huge thank you to SSM Health for supporting Share for 31-years!
