GET INVOLVED

June Volunteer Spotlight: Talia Hammer

When it comes to volunteers, there is no one more involved, helpful, and willing to give than Share’s very own Talia Hammer. Talia came to Share after the loss of her baby daughter, Faith, in 2016 and has served with an abundance of love in nearly every volunteer role Share has. Talia’s open heart has led her to serve as a Share Social Media Ambassador, a moderator of Share’s online support group meetings, a member of the Parent Panel at our Sharing and Caring Training, and as a Companion offering peer support to other bereaved families experiencing the loss of their baby. Talia is quick to volunteer and has done so with a generosity of both her heart and her time: she serves on our Angel Ball committee, planning fundraisers for Share; works at t-shirt pickup before the annual Walk for Remembrance and Hope, volunteers at every fundraising event and faithfully attends every event we offer.  She and her husband also sponsored the Baby Name Wall at the 2020 Walk.

Not only is Talia always willing to lend a hand, she also strives to promote Share’s mission to support bereaved families and increase awareness of this most special cause. She recently accepted the opportunity to be filmed sharing her and Faith’s story to help other professionals learn how to better serve families at the time of their loss. Additionally, every year on Faith’s birthday, Talia organizes a donation event to support the operations of Share—thanks to Talia, Share is never running out of tissues, office supplies, or hand sanitizer, in a year where we could never have too much. It is our honor to have Talia as a dedicated volunteer, and we are ever grateful for the time, energy, love and commitment she brings to the many ways she serves Share. Thank you, Talia!
