 Volunteer Spotlight: Tammy James

Share is delighted to honor Tammy James in our July Volunteer Spotlight!  Tammy first walked into the National Share office 16 years ago after the loss of her son, Jonathan Robert. In the years that have followed, Tammy has held Share in her heart and been an extraordinary advocate for Share and our mission. This spring, Tammy was inspired to return to the National Office with a donation of tenderly crafted care packages to be given to other moms who had experienced the loss of their baby. Tammy’s care packages include a poem she has written, handmade angel earrings, a hand treatment, and a set of Color Street nail polish strips advocating for pregnancy and infant loss awareness.

As a Color Street stylist, Tammy has been able to advocate for pregnancy loss awareness within her company, too. Recently, Color Street asked their stylists to nominate a non-profit organization that had been influential in their life, and Tammy without hesitation named Share. Color Street has since chosen to highlight Share in a video at their national conference, furthering awareness for the pregnancy and infant loss community. Tammy also created a video describing her personal story of the support she received through Share, which played at the conference as well. With Tammy's support, thousands of fellow Color Street stylists and their communities now know about Share and the support Share provides for those who have lost a baby.  Tammy’s full heart and willingness to give back to the organization that supported her 16 years ago has had an impact both within her local community and far beyond what Share could even imagine. We are so grateful for her advocacy, her sharing of her story, and her impact on the future of care for parents experiencing the loss of their baby. Thank you, Tammy!
